  • JUNE 25, 2010 - Truth about the Third Secret is out — and on Italian TV In May, we went to Rome with The Fatima Challenge — a gathering of the world's Fatima experts who put all the facts about Fatima in the public spotlight. Fatima became news.We succeeded beyond our fondest hopes. And the impact of The Fatima Challenge continues. The truth is resonating ever more loudly. Now, it is sounding on mainstream Italian television, which just aired a program called: Top secret "Fatima: An Unfinished Business. "Now, one no longer has to be afraid of being called a crank or a "Fatimist" for pointing out the contradictions in the Vatican bureaucracy's "official" position on the Third Secret and the Fatima Message in general. Well-respected Vatican journalists, such as Andrea Tornielli, are now saying what we have long said: There is a hidden part of the Third Secret. Tornielli made the claim on the above-mentioned TV program, which also featured comments by Father Nicholas Gruner, who has led the fight of this apostolate for 33 years and who brought The Fatima Challenge to Rome. And Rome listened. The Pope listened. Now, all of Italy is listening. The week following The Fatima Challenge, Pope Benedict XVI, on his way to Portugal to mark the 93rd anniversary of the May 13, 1917 apparition of Our Lady, agreed with what was said at the conference; what this apostolate has been saying for many years: The Third Secret is not about the past, but about what is happening now and what is to come."Whoever thinks the prophetic mission of Fatima is over is deceived." So said the Holy Father. And in saying so, the Pope not only sided with the "Fatimists," once a term of disparagement, but he made our position respectable in the mainstream media. Many Catholics and media commentators in Italy now accept that we have not been given the full text of the Secret. And they are citing the evidence we presented in our publications through the years and in The Devil's Final Battle in particular. They are also citing the Holy Father's recent statements that the events foretold in the Third Secret are about the suffering of the Church due to the sins of its own members, suffering such as we now see in the clerical sexual-abuse crisis. The Pope has said that the "realities" foretold in the Third Secret are "unfolding" and that they are "terrifying." Thus, does Pope Benedict reject as false the position put forth with such dogged insistence by his own Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, that Fatima is in the past. Now, the media has also turned against Bertone. In Top secret "Fatima: An Unfinished Business," Tornielli says precisely what Father Gruner, Chris Ferrara and other Fatima experts have said: that Cardinal Bertone has failed to produce the envelope containing the hidden text of the Third Secret. How do we know this? Because Archbishop Capovilla, the still living former secretary to Pope John XXIII, said that he wrote on the envelope, on Pope John's instructions, the names of those who had read the Secret and the Pope's decision to leave the disposition of the Secret to his successors. Cardinal Bertone showed what he purported to be the envelope containing the "authentic" Third Secret on Italian television, in 2007, but the envelope contained no writing, except Sister Lucy's injunction that it was not to be opened before 1960, by the express orders of Our Lady. When Cardinal Bertone's collaborator and co-author, Giuseppe De Carli, was questioned about this discrepancy at The Fatima Challenge, he could give no satisfactory answer and attempted to dismiss the problem by saying that Fatima is "not about envelopes." But the truth has come out, and on mainstream Italian TV: Bertone was being less than honest. In fact, the Cardinal was deliberately misleading, and on a very grave matter: the words of Our Lady of Fatima. Tornielli, as though he were quoting from what transpired at The Fatima Challenge, cites the discrepancy over the "Capovilla envelope" as an indication that there is a missing text, an "attachment" to the vision revealed by the Vatican in June 2000.The program goes even further, and insists, as this apostolate has always done, that the missing text must be a continuation of the phrase "In Portugal the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved etc." The journalist's say that Our Lady could not have ended Her revelation to Sister Lucy with an "etc." and notes that the Vatican's The Message of Fatima, published with the release of the vision in 2000, conspicuously avoids addressing this question. Mr. Allesandro Banfi, co-director of Mediaset Channels, an Italian TV network, is also now on record saying that there must be a missing text of the Third Secret. As Italian journalist Antonio Socci, author of The Fourth Secret of Fatima, has pointed out, the Pope is engaged in a great "truth-telling" work about the Third Secret. And now, he has allies in the media ready to follow his lead. As the effect of The Fatima Challenge and the Pope's words continue to grow, we will keep you posted. For now, join us in thanking Our Lady for blessing our efforts and keep praying. Her Triumph must be very close.
  • MAY 26, 2010 FATIMA CHALLENGE MAKES HISTORY IN ROME  On May 3, the world’s foremost experts on the most important event of modern times convened a great congress in Rome. From morning to evening, from May 3 through May 7, The Fatima Challenge offered Masses, Rosaries and talks - each talk more powerful than the last - at the very doorstep of the Vatican as the Pope prepared for his pilgrimage to Fatima. And the Vatican was listening. Pope Benedict shocked the media and the Catholic world during his trip to Portugal by affirming the message we had been hammering home the previous week in Rome: Fatima is the key to understanding the present crisis in the Church and the world. On his way to Portugal, the Holy Father spoke about the Third Secret to the press and made the following astounding and historic admission: “... I would say that, here too, beyond this great vision of the suffering of the Pope, which we can in the first place refer to Pope John Paul II, an indication is given of realities involving the future of the Church, which are gradually taking shape and becoming evident. So it is true that, in addition to the moment indicated in the vision, there is mention of, there is seen, the need for a passion of the Church, which naturally is reflected in the person of the Pope, yet the Pope stands for the Church and thus it is sufferings of the Church that are announced.” What can this mean, except that the Fatima prophecy is continuing to be realized in the sufferings of the Pope and the Church? Is this not what we in Our Lady’s Apostolate have been saying these past 33 years? Is this not the message we brought to Rome and that the Pope took to Fatima? Italian journalist Antonio Socci has declared that the Pope is now engaged in “Operation Truth” on Fatima. Of The Fatima Challenge, we can say: mission accomplished. The conference was a great success, even surpassing our highest hopes. But our work goes on. We need to get the DVDs and printed copies of the conference talks to every bishop in the world and to as many priests and laity as we are able. They need to know what Our Lady expects of them - demands of them - in the name of obedience and charity. So stay with us. Check www.fatima.org for information about our ongoing efforts, and the upcoming issue of The Fatima Crusader that will focus on the amazing events that took place in Rome during The Fatima Challenge.
  • MAY 6, 2010  Ferrara:  Consecration of Russia Not Done At the Fatima Challenge Conference on Thursday, American attorney and author Christopher Ferrara argued that there was “overwhelming evidence” that the Consecration of Russia, requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1917, has not been performed.   During the apparitions to three shepherd children at Fatima, Portugal in 1917, Mary requested that the Pope consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart.  She promised the conversion of Russia and world peace if Her requested was honoured, but warned of wars, persecutions of the Church and the “annihilation of nations” if it was not.    Ferrara contended that the 1982 and 1984 consecrations of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by Pope John Paul II did not comply with the Blessed Virgin’s request because they did not mention Russia by name.  He noted that the late Pope himself acknowledged that he had not performed the requested consecration.   Ferrara also argued that Russia shows no sign of conversion.  Instead, its government is increasingly repressive, has the highest per-capita abortion rate in the world, and remains hostile to Catholicism.
  • He urged participants at the Conference to pressure their bishops and the Holy See to perform the requested consecration before Mary’s warnings were fulfilled.
  • MAY 4, 2010 - De Carli:  Paolini a Liar  Vaticanist Giuseppe De Carli shocked attendees at the Fatima Challenge Conference on Tuesday by accusing fellow journalist Solideo Paolini of being a liar.   Paolini ignited a firestorm of controversy in 2006 by reporting that Archbishop Louis Capovilla, former secretary to Pope John XXIII, had confirmed that there were two texts of the Third Secret of Fatima.    Paolini had recounted that he asked Capovilla, “...there are two texts of the Third Secret?” to which Capovilla replied, “Precisely so!”  As detailed in his best-selling book The Fourth Secret of Fatima, journalist Antonio Socci relied heavily on Capovilla’s testimony in support of his conclusion that there is is a text related to the Third Secret, which the Vatican has not yet released.   De Carli stated that he had in his possession a letter that Capovilla had sent to Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Bertone and to the Holy Father denying that he had made the statement claimed by Paolini.  “Either Paolini is a liar, and has profited from it, or Msgr. Capovilla is a liar.  I think Solideo Paolini is a liar,” De Carli said.  When asked why Capovilla’s letter had not been released, De Carli said it was “private correspondence”.   Paolini has been invited by organizers of the Fatima Challenge Conference to appear to respond to De Carli’s allegations.
Signs of the Times: The Persecution of the Pope and Fatima

As our conference in Rome gets closer, the situation in the Church grows more dire. We can read the signs of the times – The New York Times, that is.
The Gray Lady, grown somewhat moribund, is expending its waning energy to link Pope Benedict with a failure to take action against a priest who is alleged to have abused more than 200 deaf children in Wisconsin from 1950 to 1974. The case, referred to the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith in the 1990s, is that of Father Lawrence Murphy, who had asked to be spared an ecclesiastical trial pleading old age and poor health. He died while his case was pending.
The decision to consider his plea was allegedly made, not by then-Cardinal Ratzinger, but by his secretary, then-Archbishop Tarcisio Bertone, the present Vatican Secretary of State. The Times thinks it has hooked some pretty big fish and is trying to reel them in for gutting.
The Murphy reports followed close upon published accusations that as Archbishop of Munich, the Pope allowed a priest guilty of sexual abuse to remain in pastoral ministry. The decision was made by his vicar general, who takes responsibility, but still the drums are beating: how much did Ratzinger know and when did he know it?
And all of this comes as the Church in Ireland is still reeling from scandal arising from news of episcopal cover-ups for priest-abuses. One bishop has resigned already: More may follow. And the Pope’s stern handling of the matter is being cast in the media as that of a man in a glass house throwing stones.
Defenders of the Pope claim the Church is being unfairly targeted. That may be so, but it is the corruption of the clergy and the malfeasance of bishops who have painted the target on the Church. How can this be understood as anything other than the diabolical disorientation that Sister Lucy said would befall the Church if Our Lady of Fatima was not obeyed?
How much more will the Pope have to suffer before he realizes that the only way to reclaim his moral authority and heal his wounded Church is to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and release the full text of the Third Secret?
Perhaps The Fatima Challenge, held near the precincts of the Vatican, will be the catalyst for these blessed events. Only Mary can help the Church now. Only Mary can help the Holy Father. Let us pray that he turns to Her.

  • MARCH 30, 2010 - World-respected economist, journalist and commentator Maurizio D’Orlando has confirmed his intention to attend the Fatima Challenge. He is a contributor to Asia News and a sought-after analyst of international news and financial markets.   Mr. D’Orlando will join other journalists in covering this unique historical event in Rome from May 3 through May 7. Giuseppe De Carli, who collaborated in the writing of The last Seer of Fatima with Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, will also be there. The Fatima Challenge is moving Fatima into the media spotlight, where factual reporting will weigh more heavily than ecclesiastical politics. Fatima is becoming news.   Also, Christopher Ferrara, author of the The Secret Still Hidden, has again challenged the Vatican party line on Fatima in his new and incisive critique of the work of Antonio Borelli. Borelli, in his book Fatima Past and Future and in an article in Lepanto, an Italian publication of Tradition, Family and Property, insists that the full Third Secret has been released and the consecration of Russia done.   Ferrara analyzes all of Borelli’s assertions, arguments and lapses of logic in what can only be described as a brilliant forensic tour de force (see: www.fatima.org/news/newsviews/ferraraexpose.pdf) Borelli has been invited to attend The Fatima Challenge and defend his position in person. We are still waiting to hear from him.   And don’t forget: You can become a part of The Fatima Challenge by posting your question or comment for our assembled experts.
